Our Philosophy & Policies

Our Philosophy

Acting Out Kids Community Theatre is a learning experience hidden under a bunch of fun!  An opportunity for kids to explore their creative side, make new friends, improve confidence, and make public speaking less overwhelming.

Kids participate in fun and interactive games, skits and productions that will help to develop their interests and skills and also allow them to express their own creativity.  Through these activities, kids will learn real life skills such as public speaking, social interaction, building confidence, taking initiative, expressing ideas, being creative and working together as a team.

Everyone has something important to contribute and each child will be provided with the opportunity to contribute at the level they feel the most comfortable with.  There is never any pressure, we just want kids to feel comfortable and to have fun.  Our goal is for kids to be able to express themselves in a safe and friendly environment.

We also believe that kids and community should work together.  We volunteer and perform at a variety of community events on a regular basis.  We also collect items to donate to a variety of charities. Kids are always welcome to participate in the community events or to donate an item for one of the charities, but it is never required.

Our Policy & Behavior Expectations

The goal of Acting Out Kids Community Theatre is to create an inclusive, safe, friendly and positive environment for all participants.  We do not tolerate any discrimination/harassment based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or political views.

We do not tolerate any bullying, inappropriate language or inappropriate behavior.  Any child that is rude, disrespectful, and/or provides a hostile and intimidating environment toward another child or adult will be reprimanded and we will notify a parent/guardian of the child’s behavior.  If we have to speak to a parent/guardian more than once regarding a child’s behavior, the child will no longer be allowed to participate at Acting Out Kids Community Theatre and money will not be refunded.

All participants agree to adhere to the following:

  • To always participate in an active, constructive and positive way.
  • To adhere to behavior expectations outlined above.
  • To cooperate with leaders, parents, and assistants at all times.
  • To always treat all members and adults with kindness and respect.
  • To communicate positively and actively with all other members.
  • To keep a positive frame of mind and work as hard as I can.
